Diversity Dramatist
Diversity Dramatist is a training model that creates and presents live, interactive scenarios that are designed to promote understanding of cultural diversity and develop intercultural competence and communication.
Creator and professor Charlotte Hamlin’s mission is to encourage audience members to:
- Challenge their assumptions
- Be more accepting and
- Interact more effectively and fairly with people from different cultural backgrounds
Since 1995, Diversity Dramatists model have trained thousands of employees.
A certified trainer and actor, Jan Salisbury co-leads train-the-trainer Diversity Dramatists programs with colleagues. The goal is to create internal Diversity Dramatist troupes and trainers. www.diversitydrama.org
What makes the Diversity Dramatists model so effective is that the carefully crafted and acted scenarios are tailored for an individual organization’s work and challenges.
These scenarios provide highly engaging opportunities for audiences to see how their behaviors and values are revealed through action. As audiences interact with trained actors (from your organizations or community organizations) they see not only the impact of difference and bias – they also can imagine how characters could behave differently.
Would you like to have a program that engages your employees and helps to embed the attitudes and behaviors necessary for global success?
